I did a total maintenance on my Tunze 9012 DC skimmer. It’s made to be taken apart so every bit of it was cleaned.

The skimmer is working similar to when I first set it up : overflowing at the lowest setting. Should I expect another 2-3 week break-in period ?

Thanks :)

I’m thinking the neck is now so clean (slick) that there is reduced water resistance— similar to when it was new— and the bubbles are just flying right up into your cup. So my answer is essentially ‘Yes.’

Yes and no .
by experience with no scientific answer I have always experienced some sort of break in after cleaning but significantly shorter than the initial break in

possibly as there is no resistance as mentioned above .

or the biological slime or film coat inside the skimmer has been washed away …

Should not need any break in period, maybe an hour to a day for surfaces to develop a film.
