I have that fixture and I personally like it, it is currently over my 12g frag tank. I used to have it over a 20 tall and kept clams and sps in it no problems.

What connotation of bulbs works well for a blueish tint

I'm using a Nova Extreme Pro 72" fixture in addition to my LEDs and it's worked well for me. I also used another NEP over my 55 years ago with good results. For bulbs, I'd go with two ATI Blue+, an ATI aquablue special, and a UVL Actinic white bulb. This should give you good PAR ratings with a nice coloration, but not so blue that everything looks like it's under actinics. The Blue+ bulbs could be run on the switch for your dawn/dusk cycle and the aquablue & actinic white could be your daytime lighting. Just my .02

I have to agree, I had the straight Nova extreme, and the Nova Extreme pro (both in 48")

I now have a Tek light and it has better reflectors and throws a lot more light.

Plus I did not like the stock bulbs in the current to be the colors were Bland.

the tek is better and the ati is even better, but it isn't a bad fixture. maybe try 3 blue plus and 1 aquablue special for bulbs for a nice blue.
