I saw this translucent thing in my tank this am. It kind of looks like a new mushroom of some type growing as there appears to be a center and little specs at the end. I'm not sure. Can someone identify?

Is this good or bad? I have no idea where it would have come from as I haven't added anything new in well over a year.

They can come on live rocks, coral skeleton and frag plugs/disk. I don't consider them bad because they don't reproduce rapidly and they don't really bother corals. I think they are pretty cool actually.
