Hi all,
so i got this algea. I got some Fluconazole after reading a thread from 2017 (https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/bryopsis-cure-my-battle-with-bryopsis-using-fluconazole.285096/). Just want to confirm what algea this is before dosing this medication.

According to the thread I need a single dose of 264mg and wait 14 days (remove carbon, UV etc etc etc). But want to ask here before.
Someone said I need to also do a blackout for 5 days?

Looks like in the first pic, sea lettuce. The other pics are gha. Get some snails or tangs and they'll keep it under control.

Understand your corals need light as well. If you do a black out expect the corals to react negatively.

Algea is a thing no matter what you do, control vs eradication.
If you use algea fix, incorrectly at that, you could eradicate algea. Ask me how I know.

Bryopsis tends to be more fan shaped like palm tree leaves. Here take a look:

notice the rocks are green...in the first pic our 75g

In the second pic is the wife's nano tank, the Gha is there to stay, until the clean crew does something about it. And the tang, lazy bum.

Thank you!
So its a mix of stuff... So I have a small urchin, 8 snails (some tubos, nerites etc). I cant get a tang as my tank is a nano... they don't seem to touch the stuff. I do not want to do a black out because of the corals. Should I try Fluconazole then?

With chems, there is a risk of too effective. It's a balance of what is consuming what. You nutrients are feeding everything in the tank, its just that algea utilizes it at a much greater rate than you corals ever will.

The algeafix will nuke all algea in the tank. I've done it. And now you have a mess to clean up.

Also gonna need a water change or three...

Idk why the 75 is dang near a mature tank and the 15g nano is a swamp...

You definitely have an uphill battle compare:

As long as i want to stay in my relationship yes. I have to keep the nano....
I was thinking of getting a 3 to 5cm foxface, growing him till he is too large then selling him off.
