Hey , so I’m new to corals. Was just gifted this Tank setup from my friend he was moving and couldn’t take it with him.
So my question is this right flow for torch corals ? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated

Looks a little rough and may be why they aren't opening all the way.

Once they get used to the tank you can bump up the flow but becareful as torches will also bail if there is too much flow directly hitting them.

What do you mean by rough ? So for now should I have them to low flow till they get established? How long do they tank to get used to it. What do you mean by bail ? Sorry I’m new to corals

No worries we all were starting at some point.
By rough I mean to much flow.

I would move them to a lower flow area.

Are your WaveMaker or powerheads controllable?

By bail o mean the flesh of the torch and tenticles will come away from the skeleton.

Okay I’ll move them to a lower flow area tomorrow. (Currently at work)

yeah I have the eflux wave makers 660gph. (2x) 1 on each side .
And have a Jabeo return pump running at 50% power (Max 1056gph) with a random flow nozzle.

so the tank is 20Gallon Long with a 20 Gallon long sump. And 2 Black box LEDS (Vipraspectra 165W)

I guess that’s what happened to my frogspawn it just melted away

how much flow would you recommend it to have?

Would put it at half what you currently have.

Only need enough flow to blow of debris and keep them moving, not blowing a gail.

Just adjust your settings to see it flow nicely. I have a cube tank by my nero 3 x1 is only set at 40% max on the high side.

I agree with Merkey I would move your torch to a lower flow spot it looks to be directly in the flow which is bad for it. If you’re able to control your wave maker or powerhead maybe try a lower setting if you can’t move it

You got a lot of good advice from @TrevorL And @slewrock1

Each rank is different and finding the right flow will eventually get easier to notice.

In smaller tanks try having the power heads close to the top so the under water waves aren't too much for the corals.

In a 20 long even a small 200gph powerhead can move a lot of water.
