So i recently started a ttm on 2 chrmois ive had for awhile now and a powder brown and a hippo tang. Today one chomis is showing this mark on him. It looks like uronema to me.
The chrmois had been in my previous display which is fallow for ich.
Is it safe to say i have uronema in that tank as well?
What are the chances the tangs will be unaffected?
I would appreciate any insight from someone with any experience with uronema.
Thanks

It could be Uronema, but it is a whiter than I would expect. TTM does not control Uronema though, in fact nothing really does. Take a look in the articles section here for my text on red band disease...I’m on my phone and can’t link it for you.

Ok i found your article thanks for the reply.
The ttm was for ich and velvet and then this showed up. Hopefully its somthing else, ive had these two chromis for around a year and theyve been in quarentine for two months after ich in my DT.
I recently added the two tangs to do the ttm together before returning to the DT.

Uronema rarely infects long term captive fish, I usually see it only in freshly imported ones, so that, combined with the white coloration, is leading me away from that diagnosis...so more towards a bacterial infection.

Juat an update if anyone was following, the spot did get a little red, but it appears to be healing. He is much more active, the first day was the only time he acted strange. Im assuming if it was uronema he would have been dead by now so maybe someone else hit him or he got hurt during a tank transfer. Eaither way he seems to be on the mend!
