That is huge !! Yes, its an Isopod with heavy exoskeleton and needs to remain OUT of the tank. Will latch onto fish and cause havoc

I have 60lbs of KP Live Rock in it. Straight from the ocean to my curing tub for 7 days. All of my water parameters were crazy low after that first week so with it being a new tank I decided to finish the cycle there (tub was 50 gallons) tank total system is 100 gallons. 4-5 days later all water parameters still being met I went and grabbed my clean up crew and a baby 6 line wrasse. 2-3 days after that I can home late 3-4am grabbed my flashlight to look around and saw this dart towards the glass. Was the only one I saw and yes he’s huge. I’m worried there are more but haven’t see any signs of them. Wrasse seems to be doing ok. But he’s small and stays in the rocks most of the time still.

So where did you get it? It looks like a fake! Lol but seriously where did it come from?

Your six line(even though they are *****s) would have had a nice snack with that sucker.

Funny thing is.....when doing research on this particular pest. There is claims of no known predator.. Also my sixline sleeps in the rocks at night when these guys are active. He’s been doing his hunting during the day only. Worst thing is if they are messing with him at night i have no ability of knowing because I can’t find him when he heads into the rocks for the night. I’m going to grab a yellow tang today and use him to find out if I have anymore blood sucking critters. If they attach to him I’ll know the extent of my problem and hopefully be able to eradicate them before moving any further with this new tank.
