I installed CoralVue BH-1000 HOB protein skimmer and it worked well for 2 days. I had turned off the switch for some reason and when I started it again, it stopped producing bubbles. I initially thought it might be the air issue and tried many different things but nothing is working out. Any help in fixing the issue is appreciated. Attached 2 images show that there are bubbles in the skimmer but it is not going to the collection cup.

hi, your cup is too high,
also o ring needs to be at top of body, where cup meets.
i'd say lower cup 1" ,and bring ring down to top of body... :)

Thanks for the reply. I am new to using protein skimmer. Can you let me know what is o ring? Also, same height worked earlier but will try to lower it to see if there is any difference.

I had the same problem never got the dam thing to skim with daily fish feeding . Never recieved and accurate answer from coralvue. 25 plus years in the Hobby and 2months on the tank and NO accurate skimmate. Finally too it off the tank and sits in my waste of money closet. Sorry for the info but truth is truth. By the way the tank it was on had lots of Fishes as it was FO .

Thanks a lot for the reply. Lowering the cup made a difference. Will try to adjust the height during daytime. Will check o ring as well.

@fishguy242, What is the recommended height of the cup? I lowered it and it started filling the cup quickly. I am trying different heights but wanted to know if experts follow some recommended height for the cup. Also, I have highlighted a green circle in the attached image. There is something near the pump that can be adjusted (by rotating clockwise or anti-clockwise). Do you what that is and when do we rotate it?

hi ,i believe that is just where it locks pump together ?
as far as height , start high adjust down accordingly,
always moving o ring to top of body.

Something to think about, skimmers don't always produce the same exact results with the same settings. Some are more consistent than others. I've used the BH1000 and while a good skimmer, it can be finicky. I would leave it be as much as possible once you see some results.
