Low on ammonia. I could understand low ammonia if some traces of nitrate or nitrite Are you dosing the tank or photom feeding?

UPDATE:
1 Month cycle is complete. I was away on business for the past 3 weeks so my wife tended to the tank. I ordered a bunch of coral for WWC and added them to the tank a few days ago. I'm not sure what some of them are since I got the LPS frag pack (random).
Apparently I'm having a Diatom outbreak and a bit of hair algae. But it looks like some Coraline is growing too :) Tomorrow I'll do my first water change of 25% and in 2 days I'll get some fish and a clean up crew. :)

The tank looks amazing. I (once again) have cave envy. Really fantastic looking.

Thanks! I felt like the cave/arch was the natural thing to do.

Unfortunately I had my first casualty. :( Besides the 2 clowns, I got a tiny watchman goby. He seemed OK until he swam into the MP10. It beat him up pretty bad but he lived for a while. I learned a lesson and added the sponge shield to the blower. I feel like a jerk...

I'm sorry you lost him. Sponge shield? I was wondering about that for ours. What it it called so I can order one? I was actually wanting to diffuse our flow, never thought about an accident like yours. See, he didn't die in vain.

Actually its called a foam guard. It came with my powerhead but I didnt think I'd need it. It's on now! I think most for the online stores carry it.

Does it diffuse the flow a little?

Gotta get one. My son would get super upset if that happened to us.

@Hemlawk - congrats both on the 1 month progress and the pair of clowns. I am just beginning 7th week myself on a 13G nano.

On your MP10 - what settings do you have it running in your video of the 2 clowns intro (percentage / gph)? I am curious because I currently have VorTech MP10wQD in my shopping cart as a possible alternative to my current Tunze NanoStream 6040 pump which I have been using since starting. What I am looking for is the ability to control flow as low as possible as needed. Currently Tunze 604 @ the lowest settings is only slightly higher than I like and like to lower a little more. I noticed your torch in the video was swaying a bit.

btw - you said the foam guard came with the pump....I had to do a double check in case I pull the trigger on the pump this weekend and sure enough it was in the pics...one less thing to buy :)

Remember that I'm a rookie making rookie mistakes.
I have my MP10 set to Lagoon, 4 dots up from the lowest(not quite 1/2). The Torch, Duncan and GSP seem to like it.
As for the clowns, they hang out underneath the mp10 in the corner. I guess they are still getting acclimated. Maybe I will change the flow in a few days to see if they like it better.

No worries...we're all learning :D. It's part of the fun we all share in this common interest.

200+ seems to be the lowest flow rate from what I understood. Curious how this would play out compare to tunze 6040. I guess only 1 way to find out ;) (sometime u just have to do it yourself)

I think I have a cyanobacteria issue. I'll take better pictures with my Canon later. But the top rock is getting covered in green/red algae...

Clown update. Looking good.
As for cyanobacteria, I've had the MP10 cranked and lights to a minimum.

1 week the clowns have been home :)
I bought some photography lenses. Even on the cell phone, they make a difference.
