Hello all, so I've tried to look around and am having a hard time finding any possible info on this but I had to replace all the rock in my nano due to leaching issues and noticed this little guy on the rock. Any ideas on what it could be? It's mostly translucent but has these wicked neon blue tips. I'm hoping it can stay but I wanted to find out more before potentially removing it. It is really tiny, probably not more than 2 or 3mm.

Agree on ball anemone. While some can be colorful, they dont get very big, nor attract clownfish but can also be a problem if they get too close to zoa coral

I agree. The pictures are a little blurry but it definitely looks like a ball anemone (corralimorph). I have them in my tank as well. I'd keep the little guy.

Yes it was really difficult to get clear pictures of it. I don't have any zoas yet but I'll definitely keep that in mind and hopefully they won't cause me too much trouble in the future.

They definitely can sting other tankmates but i find that mine tend to gravitate toward the darker portions of the tank. The undersides of ledges and caves seem to be the preferred hiding places. They don't like light. They can multiply but mine do so very slowly. Nothing like Aiptasia, thankfully. Once in awhile I'll get one with bright orange tips. I guess I just like them. If one pops up where you don't want it you can treat it the same as Aiptasia.

Thanks for the advice, this one is located facing the front of the tank getting direct light so I suppose it is possible it could move but I'll just keep an eye on it.

Yeah, they can move slowly from place to place. It will likely migrate over time. You'll notice that it will extend its tentacles much further at night.
