Long overdue update. Things are going well. Haven’t had much time for updates as work has been taking up all my time. I’m an MRI tech and we are very short staffed at the moment. Mainly because of good things though. One coworker semi retired and another had a baby. Have another coworker expecting a baby this month. Small team, and we have hired someone, but it takes a long time to train into the job. I have been doing it for just over a year and I’m still prepping to take my board exam in another month. Which is another thing that has been taking up my time. Anyways, tank has been on cruise for the past few months. I think it is really starting to stabilize. I still want to add a few more corals. So here are a couple of recent pictures.

Update time. Not much to report. Battling some cyano. I’m dosing dr Tim’s eco balance once a week with skimmer turned off and kept off for a few hours. We will see if that makes a difference. If not I might use chemiclean if the cyano continues to get worse. I’ve used before with success. Haven’t seen my tail spot Benny for a few days. Thinking he may have “disappeared.“ Everything else is looking great though.

Another long overdue post. Was getting elevated phosphates so I installed the brs mini gfo/carbon reactor. I run a mix of rox carbon and high capacity gfo and change it every three weeks. After one month my po4 went from .2 to .05. Also for whatever reason, this summer I have been battling high temps. I do have more equipment in the sump that’s probably adding to heating. So, I put a computer fan in the canopy and stand that run all the time, and another fan that’s a bit larger that turns on at high temps. Other wise everything is going well!

I’m thinking about switching to a kalk reactor and setting up my top off water to come from my downstairs RO reservoir. I would also like to set up an auto water change system. Wouldn’t be too hard but I’m not exactly settled on how I want to do it.
