My TSA Black Widow Blastos, I mounted then on a 3in disk at the exact same time as the WWC Rainbow blastos. Again, not happy as I took theses photos a hour or so after adding them to the disk and placing them back into my tank.

Any photo that I post is actually an insult to the actual item in question as I stink at photography and I am trying to learn.
I know how this goes. I have been fighting trying to not get grainy pics. Easy under white light, not actinics.

I don't like being lied too, I don't like to lie. And lenses on a camera are a lie. I love the fine details of corals and anemones. If there are photos lacking detail, I won't buy from that vendor. Saturation destroys gradient detail.

This is why I will always say, if possible, to see the coral as a colony and not a frag on a site. I have been to WWC, TSA, and a few other frag farms. I look at their main display tanks vs their frags and photos. I want to see what it actually looks like under normal circumstances...AKA...normal reefers situation. Their are a few SPS vendors that I will say are just, AND, will send you a frag that will look like what they posted.

The coral lens I bought seem to be okay but I understand what you mean about not buying online

I truly hate photo foolery. The corals speak for themselves when they are naturally shown. I almost never buy a frag that I have never seen in person for that reason. I will only buy from a few vendors that will be sight unseen.

Morning all.

Duncan still a little shrunken, but not as bad.

Torch is still retracted, no clue why.

This is just a total guess on my part but my old brain tells me that the more unstable an aquarium is the more good and bad days the coral will have. I have nothing to back this up with but it seems to make sense?
anyway James don’t stress too much, you’re doing great and your obvious passion for this crazy hobby will pull you through in the long run. :)

did this happen before or after feeding?
Before, just after whites came on. This has happened before, right when I got a huge explosion of new heads, so I’m hoping that’s all it is.

I meant for the torch, really.
Oh, same as Duncan, just after the whites came one.

What are your phosphates and nitrates?
I’ll test after lunch.

Right now I have 5 blue legged hermit crabs, 1 scarlet hermit, 1 medium turbo snail, 2 cerith snails, 1 nasarius, and 3 astria’s.

(the dottyback has killed some of the hermits, and that’s why I’m lacking in that department)

I added 8 ml of Iodine Saturday and 2 ml on Sunday. Today I looked at my Blastos and they are fully inflated and look the best that they have looked since I battled Dino's. I will not recommend adding Iodine though, unless you do some sort of ICP test. Just don't go chasing numbers. I was at 0 for Iodine 2 test in a row, which is why I added it.

Have you noticed any changes in the color of your coral based on how you feed your tank?
