Anyone know what all of those white dots are on the rock in the last picture? (They are raised)
Looks like spirobids. Not harmful, but can be regulated with less floating food for them to snag.

Ok, whoever said that I should start feeding my palys more called it. They look wonderful! (I fed them with ReefCandy 2 days ago and they look 10x better)

They are in an interesting location now, because of the way I have my light setup. Once I get the Noopysche, I guarantee you they will take off.

There is no guarantee. As they may be equivalent to the chinese black box in providing PUR "photosynthetic usable radiation". However, if anything. They will probably look more aesthetically pleasing. I can't even say they will.

Some more items of business, I’m going to try to move the golden goose zoas onto a rock today, so they have a solid surface to spread out on. I am also going to spot feed all the zoas/palys, and see how the Reef Candy affects their growth.

I am going to start topping off daily to keep sg at a solid level.

(the torch is also still splitting - you were right @Mibu, not too fun to watch ;Facepalm )

I mean they will get more light, even if the PAR is the same. The tank will look better aesthetically just because I’ll be able to get light all around the tank, and not just in the center.

As you can see, the colony is under the brace that’s holding the lights up:

PAR and PUR are different.

You'll have to look up the difference. There is a lot of information on both. Just because they will get more light, doesn't mean they can use it.

True I just found out not too long ago that corals only use up to 6-7 hours of light anything beyond that is for our viewing pleasure. ! I have my lights on 50% acclimating for my shroom and blasto for a week so they can settle in

Morning guys!

Got an update from Noopysche last night. They have been really busy the last few weeks, but they did get it set for delivery yesterday. He said that because of how busy the port was, it may be a couple more days before it actually ships. (It’s coming from China)

So I can probably expect to get it in 7-10 days.

Where did you read that 6-7 hours of light thing ? Goes against everything I’ve read and heard.
I don’t even know how to put my prime in acclimation mode. Lol

I have read 5. But I refuse to argue as everything keeps changing all the time.

Interesting. I’m starting to think anything goes lol
Well, the 5 hours is where ramp up time comes in. That like high noon where they begin the photosynthesis part of the day. The brightest portion of the day. 5 hours of max light is all they can utilize. After 5 hours it means nothing.
But, They need to be able to wake up. So, there is a correct wave length to tell them "time to wake up" . "time to eat". "time to go to bed" But, again all this information I read back in 2006. Now I guess I hunt to see what may have changed.

I can find articles if you want. How true they are now, I don't know anymore.
