So if I was to change my aquascape . Should I use new rock ? Or try to make something with the rock I already have ?
I would advise heavily against removing your current recycled rock and replacing it.

Luckily, most of the rock we use as live rock is not super strong. You will likely be able to break the cement bond just pulling them apart at the right angle.

Do you have additional rock you are wanting to add or just using the same exact pieces, and reorienting them?

Reorienting them I feel like I don’t have a lot of usable rock space since most is very shaded and if i can’t really use the sides much for coral either. I do have extra rock and different pieces to mess around with. I just gotta figure out the scape I want

I do not understand what as gone off here, maybe it's the tug boat you are carrying aquarium to aquarium? You aquriam has been looking great since January, am I missing something here like being a total arsehole grants you anything? , Where is your tugboat now Patrick (meaning starfish)

Let me get you up to speed
I have 1 tank that is the cube this is the most recent update.

the submarine is something my wife added to the tank “for her liking” she doesn’t know a lot about saltwater since we have been keeping freshwater tanks. All those other pics are before my tank crashed and went out of control. I ended up doing a rip clean ( meaning rinsing sand rock all the above )to try and save what I had left it’s been 1 month and my tank is currently in good standing to the point where I can put in more coral

There's definitely a balance between aesthetics and function. Before starting my recent scape, I knew generally what I wanted to come across at the end and tried using the rock available, to make it happen. I spent a lot of time with dry hands thinking about it and envisioning it before touching rock .i'm not quite there yet as there are two pieces that I think need to move yet.

The next scape doesn't have to be the Final one. So long as you're moving in the right direction and not moving things often, you'll find that one setup that you love and is functional.

Thinking to the future of what you want it to be in 6 months to a few years away will help from the beginning . Now you know to watch for heavy shading if you run one LAMP.

Yes don't get me wrong it looks great in pics but maybe find the reason why you had to rip/ replace, I think you are doing more harm then good and honestly all the gear and no idea approach, I could be wrong, I hope I am wrong but I will follow and hopefully you will have a successful aquriam

I’m not sure just because there isn’t a lot of nitrates in the system that’s why it’s not coming out
I only have ever had one Goni and it’s the one I have now (next to BTA on rock ) mine didn’t open for two weeks starting out - I had on top of rocks , put to sand bed and it slowly came out with very high flow plus daily dosing of ab+ , I’ve heard gonis struggle because usually they like the tank dirtier /require feedings I was also dosing phytoplankton for two months. Take my exp with grain of salt lol I’ve found it very hardy I just glued it down , before the urchin / snails would knock it over daily face into the sand

I think you could make a really cool “crash scape “ with the tugboat half way into the sand next to a cliff , I’m sure fish love using it as a home. My orchid dottyback sleeps in dead clam shells every night

That was the exact reason for the rip clean I really messed up in the beginning adding a bunch of stuff moving a bunch of stuff cemented rocks together not knowing what I wanted. The rip clean gave my tank stability and got rid of all the mistakes I made (hopefully) I won’t know for a few more months if it helped. Trust me when I say I learn from my mistakes it’s going to be better this time

I was thinking that too ! I’m gonna try convincing my wife if I can just move it to one of my fresh water tanks. If not I’ll just grow gsp on it so it looks cooler I was thinking a cove scape then I can place the sub in the center and have rocks surrounding it. Idk I’ll have to draw it out

Definitely when I rescape he will be moved off the sand bed ! There so much unusable rock because of the shade I made ! Also if my blasto grows quickly I’ll frag and ship haha

How high of a par ? The highest I have right now is 150 lowest is 50 I’m just gonna let it hangout in this spot for a week or so
I'm actually running mine lower than suggested. I was told 200 par in system it came out of but its sitting around 170 atm. It actually may not be enough.
