Ughhh. Just used the calcium checker first reading was 456 but I decided to do it again and it came out at 470 I’m bad at taking test lol
Hana is nice and all. I don't mind the red sea, salisfert and seachem. Calcium on red sea is a pita. I never know if i added too much or too little powder.

That’s why the salifert got me confused idk if I’m putting the right powder ! But I just watched a few videos on it and I did do it wrong so I’ll test again in a week don wanna mess with it too much

seachem phospate is super easy to test, 1 drop and then 2 drops, mix a little and check color chart.. They add in a reference fluid as well if you think your kit is bad. My nitrate/nitrite was old, had to be. Reference fluid never took reading.. So I got a salisfert later on. Don't really need to test nitrite anyhow, I guess...

Redsea alk is easy as well. magnesium is blah. Talk about rambling.

That’s the fun part , it will only get consumed when growing that’s why it’s hard for me to dial down alk I will lose like .5 dkh a day then randomly won’t lose any to losing 2dkh a day

I don't think you have enough coral to drain those 2 with in a few weeks. now if you had some sps and saw a lot of growth in 2 weeks, yes the numbers should be lower.

I’m so disappointed I didn’t join this hobby long ago ! I’m loving every minute a lot of people say it’s expensive . Maybe at first but once things get dialed in it’s smooth sailing ! Well for a nano at least
I know right!? If I could go back like 5 years I would have told my 11 year old self: Listen kid, START REEFING.

Well I actually did start keeping fish around 10-11, and have been keeping fish ever since. I only started reefing at the beginning of this year. :D

Would I have to dip the whole rock? It’s the only rock in the tank that’s most established. If I did do a dip would it effect pods and such that live in it.
yes it would. maybe look closely w flashlight 2 hrs after lights out first, before trying dip.
they take on the color of the zoa ,so look close...
