So I had a previous post on a jbj 45. Well found out i have a 30 but that doesn't matter anymore! The tank had the sump removed and i am in the process of rebuilding that sump. I have a few yrs experience with tanks so this is going to be a labor of love, hopefully i will love it after this!
My plan is to create the back wall from black acrylic and clear for the inside filter chambers. I had plenty of help and suggestions from the previous post which I am grateful for! So this coming week Im setting my acrylic fab station back up and gettin busy.

And... the stand I am rebuilding since the bottom right is compromised from water saturation. Oh and missing the door. The wife wants it nice since its in the family room. I have to figure out what type of lighting I want to use. I have a LED black box but maybe something more sleeker but not breaking my bank account!

Gee I’d just say the hell with it and put in a overflow and a cable sump inside the stand

So a St. Pats Day update. Started up the Ole acrylic shop again. Well drug the table saw out and the trim router. :) Got the back panel cut out, the chambers cut and did a lil jig routerin' After that glued the 2 filter sections up and getting ready to mount in the tank first. I will then glue the back panel to the already set in place filter sections. Progress!

We are glueing the back panel in place. Using weld on to secure. Just so everyone knows, yes i am using silicone on acrylic. I am using aquarium silicone from aqueon. 100% silicone. Its solid, not structurally built but it holds and think about the bc 29. That back panel is plastic and siliconed in. I had to saw that bish out when i modified the tank years ago. Its gonna be grrrrrreat!

Basically copy the one I have but my wife wants more wood finish vs black... I dunno but I'll get a nice sheet of plywood and probably do poplar front trim and doors. Can mimic a few types of color with that.
Oh and I plan to hit the rough edge of acrylic with a heat gut or quick flame to smooth. Didn't want to do it until I glued

Sorry for the lack of updates. Life does get in the way of things. Ive rebuilt the stand to use to save some money and time. I just finished my diy media basket. Didnt take pics of the process but have a pic to share of the completed job. I plan to get my sand and a heater tomorrow to get it filled. Then decide on some rock. Im a non live rock kinda person and prefer to let it happen on its own. No rush. I plan on a seahorse tank 20180421_130737.jpg 20180421_130749.jpg
