I am getting some good dark skimmate within 24hrs. I promise I won't just post nothing but skimmate pictures. Just a little stoked with how well the buckets are working.

Awesome list!!! Where did you get the Peng's Metallic Red Millipora from and can I see a picture of it?

corey

Thanks! I got it from @BCSreef. It is the one circled in red. I can and try to get a better picture tomorrow if you want. Or maybe Bob could send you a colony shot.

Tank is still doing it's thing. Getting good growth and colors. Dealing with a bubble algae outbreak but I expected it. Most of the bubble algae is on the new dry rock. Some elbow grease and it will good as new.

Made a canopy out of PVC board. Blocks the light but I will need to find a way to secure the it to the light rack as it is starting to bow.

I am going through a gallon of 2-part in a week now so I decided it was time for a CARX. I went with the Reef Octopus CR5000D.

I went with ARM extra coarse media. I used to run Reborn but I heard the media changed. Anybody have good experience with ARM extra coarse?

Tank is still doing its thing. Moved away from two-part and the CARX is doing a great job at keeping everything stable.

I haven't taken any new pictures since the tank was set up, so I snapped a couple tonight. Nothing crazy but PE and colors are coming back!

A gallon in a week, wow! Tank is looking great.

Thank you! It got to the point where a CARX made sense. I was mixing a gallon of BRS 2-part every week. I think I was dosing almost 500ml daily of each.

So far the CARX is rocking! The tank seems to love it except for my pH....

I hear ya, did the ph take a pretty big hit?

I pulled my old GEO 618 due to ph. I might modify it to pull from the side like the newer models instead of the top, see if I can get better diffusion. Effluent in the fuge, skimmer pulling outside air, only feeding co2 during the day and 6500ml of kalk a day and my ph was still dipping 7.75-7.8 during the night and peaking around 8.1.

Yes. I am at 7.97 right now and will be lucky to hit 8.07 by tonight. I am going to redo the bucket on my DIY skimmer to make it recirculate through a scrubber to see if that helps at all.

CALL IT A COMEBACK!

The end of this month will be a year since my crash from a bad bacteria/pathogen. It's been a long 5 months since setting the new tank up but the tank is finally making strides now. Color is back and getting daily growth on almost all pieces.

Bubble algae is now 50% gone. I added 50+ emeralds this week so that should help.

Busy weekend ahead of me. Going to remove the rest of the bubble algae and mount almost 30 frags including some gorgonians.

Took this video last night. I know the music is dramatic but it is how I feel about the tank right now. It's in Beast Mode!

I removed the Bashsea Bio Reactor as I felt it wasn't doing anything. With all of the rocks, etc the bio reactor wasn't necessary.

I decided to repurpose it. I am running my CARX effluent into it in hopes that the air helps off gas the excess CO2. So far it seems to be working.

Busy weekend!

Cleaned 95% of the bubble algae and mounted 25 frags.

Cleaned the tank with a stainless steel tape knife. This was recommended to me and was told to round the edges and sand it. I was nervous to use it but it ended out being the best acrylic cleaner I have tried so far. It melted the Coralline like butter.

Raised the halides and black boxes up about a foot. I feel I was blasting the tank with too much light considering the acros on the bottom look the best. The light looks much better now.

First batch of Phyto finished and dosed today. I will start dosing this daily now.
