I just wanted to share some pics of my recent tank upgrade. I have been on the sideline while working on this project that took me forever to finish. This tank has been running for just over a month.

Nothing's special about this tank - just something to share with everyone. :)

Tank: TruVu 60g (48"x15"x18")
Lighting: Hamilton 4 X 54w T5 retro with (2) Actinics and (2) 10K bulbs
Refugium Lighting: Hamilton 2 X 32w fixture with 10K bulbs
Skimmer: Octopus Recirc 110
Return Pump: Rio 1400
Heater: Jager 200w set at 79 degrees
Powerhead: (2) Koralia #4
Misc: Walmart canopy fan, DIY Durso pipe, DIY fuge/sump

Here are the pics:

I used my old 20g for the fuge...

and made a removable screen for it.

My DIY Durso pipe.

I used some of those 'puzzle' foam mats in between tank and stand instead of styrofoam. I also used these as lining inside the stand.

Here's what the sump looks like with everything installed.

My holding tank while I was working on the new one.

Before the upgrade - my 20g that I've had running since 1994.

And here it is now.

I'll update with some macro pics of zoas when the lens arrive. I have yet to post some pics of the trade I had with Marvin a long time ago. Sorry Marvin for I know my feedback is long overdue.

Anyhow, thanks for looking! :)

Nice upgrade! I see you changed over to a barebottom tank now. Any reason why? Looks great and can't wait for macros!

Thanks for the compliment. :)

The BB is actually for experimentation. I'm trying to see if I can control nitrates better by minimizing most of the detritus accumulation in the tank. My main nitrate control would be Chaeto- aided by the skimmer.

I'll try this set-up for 6 months to give it ample time to work.

Nice setup! Barebottom looks nice. Keep posted on how it does. I love the picasso clown in the back.

Thanks Guys! :)

The Picasso and the RBTA (rare purple base) came from a Bay Area reefer. He just charged me $50 for both. :)
