Hey

Its been just over a year since I started adding coral. The pandemic has made it very hard to obtain coral here in Canada. i figured i would share what I have been doing with my reef. This is my red sea reefer 250 with gho proflux 4.0 and kh director. Anyone from Vancouver bc Canada or surrounding areas? See ya at the reef shop!

Thankyou. I hope I can help people out. I have a strong biological understanding of reef and reef inhabitants. I'm horrible at naming acropora species. So am hoping to work on that skill. Please join me on my social media I'd love to follow everyone to see their tanks.

I found Picture of fish I had in the late 90s - 2004 when i graduated highschool. At which time I got a larger tank. I had many large tanks 75 gallon to 200 gallons. That purple tang cost me 19.99$, the powder brown cost me 24.99$, the tilefish were 30$ each they eventually all jumped out of the tank (Even with a screen on it!), the place angel was 23$. Today the hobby has evolved. Prices of fish are much higher. I think this is a barrier to the hobby, however, i also think this is actually good! It makes people think about the animal they are purchasing. How special it is and how fragile it may be. These are all truly amazing creatures and deserve respect. Although we do need to keep the cost reasonable! MOST IMPORTANT! We need to stop driving crazy fads! that continue to drive prices up. You can do amazing reef tanks on a budget! Have you seen how much a planted freshwater aquarium costs these days?

Welcome to the community! Great looking tank! I'm over in Toronto. You're not kidding about getting corals. Even fish! I just started about 6 months ago so have no idea what it was like getting livestock before the pandemic but I can't imagine it was like this.

I grabbed 2 acropora from Blue World Aquariums. A marine culture acropora and a beautiful frag from the frag garage collection.
