How would everyone feel if we do the July meeting at my place on the 21st instead of the 28th?

I'll provide the meat course. Have a couple ideas, not sure which way I will go with it yet.

I'm not going to have internet access while I travel next week. I'll try to help coordinate more, along with directions, when I get back.

I still have the paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils from the last meeting here. I'll bring them.

I can bring either a dessert or some potato salad.
Any chance I can get you to bring me a nice ball of chaeto? I'd like to change mine out to what may be a different variety to see if I can get it to tumble. I've had no luck with mine. It does the job, but I do rotate it by hand every day or two.

Mine does not tumble either...

I can bring you some if you'd like to try mine. I don't have a huge amount to spare any more after a mysterious chaeto crash about two months ago. They are doing well now but not tumbling.

Tumbling is a flow issue in my case. I can get it to tumble if I put a powerhead in the fuge. I don't know if tumbling is very important for their growth, though. Doesn't a BRStv segment indicate otherwise?

I get some tumble with a large airstone. Still have to handle it about every three days. Much of the original bunch has broken off and sits at the bottom but at least the colors look good with whats still collected together.

Mine don't tumble either. It's pushed to the side because of flow

I've tried several things to get my chaeto to tumble with no luck, including adding a power head to the sump. Its not something I worry about, more of a curiosity. My H380 light is too intense, wish it was adjustable, so if I don't flip my chaeto regularly it builds up bacteria on top. It also doesn't grow together very tightly.

As a positive, my tank continues to do well. I doubt anyone will be impressed with the coral yet but no harm was done by being away for a week. Glass needs to be cleaned but otherwise all looks well.

I do have to figure out what to do with a birdsnest that is growing into other corals.... :confused: Might be time to buy some fragging tools although I know I can just snap the branches off on this thing and the little crab fixes the damage.

You don't really need much in the way of fragging tools. I use toenail clippers and super glue. When you get into some of the thicker branched corals such as staghorns and other acros a wet saw does a good job. It also cuts the plating corals such as monti caps and chalices into neat pieces because when you try to break them they never seem to break where you want them to.

I let the cheato grow until it fills the entire compartment and eventually turns white on top. This happens about every month. Then I trim it way back and wait for it to grow like crazy again.

Ok, time to finish getting this planned, Saturday is almost here!

So far I have

@Brew12 - Some kind of meat.
@harry - Plates, utensils, cups
@Tomoko Schum - Potato salad or desert
@joejoe1055-1 - ?
@GWHouston - Mac and Cheese

Anyone else going to make it? @beaslbob ? Are you and Verdell going to make it?

And is anyone who is coming bringing more than just themselves?
