No it was gifted. Hope he doesn’t eat to many pods on the mandarin. I think it will be ok but having the fuge with newer rock it’s not reproducing pods that I see yet.
he/she is cool but takes a minute to find on the sand. Good camouflage

One last update

last week I finally saw the anemone crab. He moved out of the BTA and now lives on the bottom overhang of the BTA rock.
should I leave him be or help him home?
I guess he knows what he is doing but not sure if he is lost.

The pipefish is neat to watch move around like a snake. I don’t like snakes but pipefish are cool.

The red is fantastic. I can watch the star for 10 minutes and it doesn’t move. Look away 30 seconds and it’s Where’s Waldo

Head and fins up. Someone has the guard at high alert. It was just the tomini taunting.
I think the tangs are looking for dollar bills. They are always shaking their tails for the gobby

got clean chaeto, sea lettuce and red ogo. Sea lettuce bleached the next morning and not sure how well the red ogo is. Filter socks installed for tank maintenance

I love the blue stripe pipefish! Never see them loca or in person yet. I am sure he/she will be fine in the care of you and son. i worry about mine going though a power head or going through the slots in the overflow. I think SuncrestReef lost his in the overflow not to long ago.
You getting a pair or single? I would have preferred a pair.

Opened the door to the house and what is that nasty smell. Ah yes I own a reef tank and forgot to empty full skimmer cup at 6 am this morning. What a mess and now the skimmer is going crazy.

Tomini the past weekhas been swimming around with fins extended. Never saw him do it before. Makes him look so much bigger

Feeling like stayed up way to late and enjoyed to many beverages I took a ride to the LFS. Hiding in the middle of a bunch of blueberry yum “I think” was this little chunk of goodness that I couldn’t pass up. Picture taking immediately after adding to display
