Just bought this green goniopora seeking advice please

I bought this today and it opened real nice at the store about the size of a large orange. Wasnt going to buy it until the owner told me its an australian goni therefore its very hardy. Any truth to this?

they have a reputation of withering away after a while. I had one - did great for a bit but hen suddenly died. Red ones are supposed to be hardier.

Darn it so my LFS lied to me? I heard it from two different LFS that theyrebhardy. Both said the Australian varieties are much safer.

I target feed mine and its about the size of a basketball when open.

Gonna need to target feed and make sure I️t feeds fairly regularly. Also keep sand off of them so they can open up and expand. Lastly make sure you do not damage I️t. Mine got a cut in I️t and within a day brown jelly appeared on I️t and destroyed I️t.

When I️ kept out of sandbed and target fed goniopower they survived well. They truly are not “hardy” corals though. Red ones do a lot better. And so do ORA ones

I have it on my sandbed with moderate flow. I dont think its getting any sand but shoukd i move it higher up just to be safe?
