i also bought a reefer 900 following this thread for ideas on my tank for equipment and fish etc.

the display is 192 G redsea makes their volume numbers more accurate then others cuz they use inside dimensions and leave out the volume of the glass whereas other just do (LxWxH)/231 and get like 226G for the same tank which is what ppl would get if they entered the redsea listed dimensions on any aquarium vol calculator
so someone with a custom tank and sump w/ exact same extension with the same exact dimensions could say the tank is 285G or more wiht a aq calc redsea also subtracts the volume for the 1" space from the rim of the tank to the water surface and the height in the sump thats not covered in water since a 40G tank used for a sump would prob hold only 25G of water

So the tank has been cooking and there isn't much to update but here's a full tank shot just for fun :)

Here are the parameters as promised.
Temperature: on at 77.0 off at 78.0
PH: 8.02
ORP: 450
Salinity: 35 ppt.

Ammonia: 4 ppm
Nitrite: 1-2 ppm
Nitrate: 0-10 ppm

So heres a fun (not fun) story about the salinity. We used an old hydrometer for the initial fill at 1.026. After I set up the Apex it was reading around 42-44 ppt so my first thought was that the probes needed calibrated. After getting a high reading after calibration I took the hydrometer to a LFS and found out that it was reading off by 5 clicks . I've gotten the water down to 35 ppt but plan on having the water at 32 ppt or around 1.023 on a calibrated hydrometer. (1.018 on the old hydrometer o_O).

Anyway, if there are any pictures of the equipment that you would like to see then just let me know! :D

what a story just an FYI u should probably use a refractometer if ya got the money go with hanna salinity / temp meter but best Milwauke MA887 refractometer if ya dont just get a LED lighted hand held refractometer but hydrometers work the instant ocean one is the best of hydros imo just get it new and clean it often but best refract also could u take a pic of the sump and extension sump too close up also whered u put the apex

So it's definitely been a while since I've updated. Everything is up and running. Coraline is starting to pepper the rocks and powerheads! Had a bit of a problem with ugly algae and the light schedule at the beginning.

The screenshot of my light schedule is the test that seemed to render the problem algae unable to grow. Coraline is still flourishing at this setting.. Attached is the most recent FTS (sorry for the snapchat quality).

I'll put together a stock list and get that documented On here soon!

Just a small update. The owner of the tank bought a beautiful colony of aiptasia.

It hitched on a huge colony of Kenya tree. The base of the rock came with some free long tentacled zoas.

To be fair they look appealing to someone who doesn't know the dangers. So that's fun. Bad news is that the Kenya tree colony is too big for the quarantine tank so the battle is going to take place in the show tank. There are a couple smaller colonies that came with the purchase that I am going to keep an eye on. I am worried that the damage has already been done.
