Hey Everyone, I'm knew to this forum. I was gifted a Fluval spec v and decided I wanted to do a saltwater tank, I did plenty of research and saw a lot of people saying how tough a nano reef tank is. Nonetheless, I went ahead and set it all up. I got live sand and live rock, everything else in tank is stock other than adding a koralia 250 gph powerhead. I let the tank cycle for about two weeks before adding my first fish. I have one clown fish, then a week later I added some snails, hermit crabs and arrowhead crab and a tiny spotted drum which I will get rid of once he grows. SO far everything is running smoothly (knock on wood). I also was given by a friend some Kenya tree coral frags and one green star polyp frag. I am not planning on adding any more fish but for sure plan on getting more coral. Any cool recommendations for LPS corals that can live in low light as im using the stock light. I really like torch corals but not sure if they would survive. Any other tips would be helpful as im completely new to this. Ill attach pictures below!!

I'm about a month into my Nano, as well!

Keep it up...remember...stability/consistency...and don't get too much stuff at a time. hehe...I know...easier said than done!
Hahaha that’s the hardest part but thanks for your recommendation. Good luck to you with your nano as well!!

Awesome! Great first starter corals you already have. I would say Duncan or acan for some easy LPS in low light.

I'm only 2,5 years in but after a couple of months with my nano I got so hooked that within the year I added a second bigger tank. This hobby gets out of control quick ;)

Nice start! Love your live rock, where did you purchase it? Great recommendations above. I would also include candy coral to that list. Best of luck

Thanks man! Got the live rock at my local fish store it’s a medium nano arch rock it’s sweet for the tank a perfect fit! I’ll definitely check out some candy coral!

Hahaha I know I feel like I already want a bigger tank with more fish and coral and it’s only been a month. It’s gonna be tough but hopefully I can develop this nano to be all grown and healthy!
