Why do you have chopsticks down there ? Lol you plan on having sushi ?
I did have 4 fish initially. One disappeared *mysteriously* lol.

I actually used it to grab one of the sock silencers that fell in between the inlet portion of the sump and the sock portion. It fell in a very tight section of the sump lol. Good eyes, I missed it when taking pictures lol.

Happy new year everyone!

Okay, this past holiday kept me busy. We had some family over . Yes, I know, shelter in place, but this is our first year in our own home and my wife was excited and wanted the in-laws over. So yeah...

Anyway, nobody cares about what I did. Here is what this thread is for:

The tank is cycled. I have since added four blue eyed cardinals. I love these fish, they’re my favorite. They school nicely, and are well behaved. Unfortunately, one ended up not eating and died today. I’m a bit sad about it, but I couldn’t do anything to try and make it eat. I noticed some diatoms starting to cover the rocks and substrate, so I added 4 trochus snails and 4 scarlet reef hermits. I may need a fighting conch in the near future. They are theeee best at cleaning the sandbed imo. Here are some pictures. Happy reefing everyone and stay safe!
How is that MP10 holding onto the glass? Is it a decently strong hold ? Because MP 10 specs say it’s max is 9.5mm and that glass is 12 mm. Ecotech told me I need the mp 40 but idk if that’s true. I’d prefer two more 10’s if possible.

When I first mounted it, I had the wires come from below. I only found it loose once, and a couple times it fell off during feed mode. I now have the wires coming from above and I use zip tie mounts to hold it. It holds fairly well. But i am going to buy mp40’s for this tank.

The only thing is that two MP40’s will overpower a tank of our size. Even at their minimum setting. I believe we wouldn’t be able to use the MP40’s to even half their capability or it will be too much. Let me know what you think

I don’t think it will be too much, I think it will be just right. My tank will be SPS dominated, so then the mp40s will be just right. The lone mp10 is running at 60% currently, but I would prefer more and a wider flow. That’s why I feel the mp40 will be just right. If you’re going a mixed reef or LPS/softy tank, two mp10s will work just fine.

There’s a very good deal on it, so I jumped on it lol. It just sits right in. No modification is needed. The 90.3 sump has 2 slots for filter socks, I only ordered one klir filter roller. I suggest going with 2 or buying the flow diverter for the other hole. I currently have the sock in the other hole but it isn’t letting the klir do it’s job correctly so I need the diverter.

A not so eventful update. The Cardinalfish are all eating. So my suspicion of one carrying eggs is false. Algae continues to grow, live rocks are turning green. Pod population is exploding. Time for a mandarin goby soon. It’s too early right now for one, though. Happy reefing!

Crossing a couple Acros off my list to get. A local reefer was kind enough and was giving away a few frags. Lucky for me, I was able to get a couple. ORA pearlberry and JF Fox Flame. The pearl berry has always been my favorite especially when it became available in the year 2000’s. Here is my first time growing it. Happy reefing

So far, does a great job. I am still changing out one filter sock while I wait for the flow diverter. I noticed my nitrates dropped to 3-5 ppm after installing it. I would like to keep it at around 10-20ppm, which is where it was before. I will need to feed a lot more and buy more fish lol.

Update! Bought a Green Slimer Acro and 4 storm troopers. Mocha storm clownfish. These little guys are tiny! But they are so cool. Happy Friday!

Ok, after the post tonight I noticed something wasn’t quite right with my Radions. There are 5 royal blue LED’s that are not working. This sucks, who would’ve thought $400+ lights would have this issue. Apparently, it’s common enough as I found multiple posts about this on R2R.

So I sent out the Radion for a warranty repair. It sucks especially with the light costing an arm and a leg. But It is what it is, I just want it back soon. You will notice I moved the single light to the center to provide better coverage, and I also cranked up the light to 75%. I will get a PAR reading when the other light comes back. On a side note, MP40 coming in tomorrow!!

I also added a Miyagi Tort from the old Biocube. Also, I picked up a green hammer. The pearlberry is starting to encrust, and the JF Fox Flame has definitely started to encrust. Cant wait for these to grow out.

Happy Reefing!!

Small update. Things are rolling right along. Frags are doing great, the WWC 500 Degree colored up nicely. Fox flame is encrusting rather quickly. Clownfish are starting to lose their orange and get that dark “mocha” color. Happy reefing

Update: Ecotech was cool and completely replaced the radion instead of repairing it. I received the light Thursday, mounted it and the tank looks great. Can’t wait for everything to fill in. Happy reefing you reefers
