Added salt today. Wired my Ranco controllers. Got the skimmer setup. Installed the Kessil.

ALL SYSTEMS GO!

Will start moving rock in tomorrow.

This is 2x80w T5 and Kessils full white at 30%. Kessil shimmer is great.

I think I need the longer feeding tube for my plank because it sits on the canopy 1.5” above the tank rim. Not sure though. Seems like water level is low. I’m not sure how to set this up right yet.

I had this issue, and it was causing some of the food to be dispensed from the mixing chamber before it was sufficiently hydrated and float to the top. I reached out to Avast, and the support was exceptional. I put a longer tube on the feeder and it resolved the food floating to the top issue for me.

Thanks! Went ahead and ordered the longer tube for $8.

Started moving in rock. I was going to cement or glue them but the more I thought about it the more I think that is a bizarre waste of time. Always have used acrylic rods and drilled holes and it looked great. Everything should be covered in huge acro colonies anyway so what do I care how the rock looks underneath. A lot if these NSA scapes look like horrible Timothy Burton movie props anyway. I’m just going for a natural look.

Fish go in tomorrow.

Did u have all those fish in QT? Don’t recall so many but maybe a missed a post or two.
Oh yeah, they all went through copper and prazi. They’ve been hanging out in a 40B while I setup the tank. I have two 20g with the next batch getting treated now.

Seems you had a bit of a rough start but looks like you figured it out. Any words of wisdom?
Diver's Den fish have made it much easier. I think its more cost effective to buy from them when possible - I've had zero DD losses. LFS fish have been a coin toss. Hard to treat them without experience because things go south so fast and you can't always get help in time from just posting here.

Sponge filters are awesome. If I had to choose between a power filter and a good sponge filter I'd go with the latter. I get the 4" cube sponges and stick a cheap power head in it.

Methylene blue is awesome. It is outright mocked on R2R but I've used it for ammonia burn and treating open wounds and I was amazed at the results. I'm convinced I saved fish with this stuff.

Beta glucan is awesome. Soaking food with it really helps combat the effects of copper.

Most importantly, I would have given up quarantining without @Humblefish and his gang. He is selflessly helpful without chastising people and has a real gift for giving practical, actionable advice rather than pointing at dissertations and studies that are useless to most hobbyists.
