Kessil A360X wifi dongle question

I just picked up 3 A360X's. My question is: Is there any reason I have to use the expensive Kessil wifi dongle or will any wifi dongle work? A usb wifi is like $15 and a usb to usb-c cable is like $5.

You have to use the kessil wifi dongle, the software that controlls the lights is installed on the controllers.
