Do you have any pics of how you put the scrubber to your skimmer?
When I had the IM NuvoSkim hooked up, I just used the standard black tubing that it came with, and slid it into the CO2 Scrubber tubing - it fit in perfectly.

I was looking into adding either the Nuvoskim or Eshops nano to my 20.

Performance wise, what did you like better about each? Noise level for both?

Any pics of the chamber with the skimmer? Was always curious how the fit is.

Thanks

I like the Eshopps much better. It’s a pretty tight fit, but it does out perform the nuvoskim. I don’t think it’s any noisier than the nuvoskim - they are both relatively quiet.

I’ve attached two quick pics. The skim it collects is darker than what the Nuvo would collect and I had some micro bubbles with the Nuvo but not the eshopps.

Thanks for the pics, and nice tank BTW.

I guess I'm just confused how it fits.

According to IM...that chamber is 4x2.7" but the skimmer is 4.5x2.5

So how does it fit?

thank you!

It’s definitely a tight fit.
If you look at the first pic, you see that gap to the left of the skimmer, that’s where the skimmer pump sits. There’s a little bit of wiggle room from left to right but none from front to back. I’m not sure what the actual size is of the IM compartment, but I can guarantee it fits.

And in the second pic, you can kind of see where the chamber wall is (my heater rests up against it almost).

there’s a magnet for the skimmer which I have resting on the back wall (outside of tank).

Which Mightyjet version do you use? Hows the flow with the VCA's? I would like to do a similar setup as right now I run an MJ900 with the stock nozles.

Also, what settings do you run your MP10 on? I run reef crest on 75%. I just feel that program sounds more time on low flow than high turbulent flow.

I use the bigger mightyjet, the midsized not the desktop version if I’m not mistaken. I run it at 1.4 (BRS has a conversion chart for how much flow this actually provides).

as for the mp10; reef crest @ 55% and NTM @50%. Some of my sand has moved around from the flow - but I’m okay with that.

I'm surprised 55% is enough for everything. I do 75 and feel I need more. You have more foiq with your retun though. I may have to try these.

Thanks for the help

Beautiful looking tank. Sorry to read about your losses. I have a similarly sized tank from Cobalt and I can only hope to have mine looking like yours one day.

So I’ve had an asterina star problem for a little while, and decided to finally take action against them.
Yesterday I added a Harlequin Shrimp. I understand that these only eat starfish, so once the asterina population gets low I’ll start to add food for him to eat.

Below is a quick shot after adding him to the tank, hopefully he does well.

Additionally, last month I added an LED bar to my tank for supplemental light. I went with an AliExpress bar sold by PopularGrow - and had them use 450 and 470nm LEDs. Before adding the might, I removed the LED lenses, to reduce the added par and increase the overall spread. So far I’m happy with this light, and the corals all seem to like it too.
I need to finish the canopy for the light, but will hopefully have a FTS to show it’s addition in the near future.

Additionally, it seems that Sully has found a nice spot to live. Under the monti cap, here’s a quick pic during dawn.

Great looking tank. I just started a Nuvo 20, hope it looks this good some day. Is your eshopps skimmer the newer model or the older one? I had heard they changed the design recently. I'm trying to decide between that and the Icecap K1 Nano.

Newer one. It still fits well. Would highly recommend. Works well and really easy to clean

Forgot to update this thread. Below is a quick annual recap, as my tank is now 3 years old.

tank: Nuvo 20
Wavemakers: mp10 and Nero 3
Lights: Radion G5 Xr15 Pro w/reef bright k15
Controller: hydros
Salt: Tropic Marine Pro
Dose: all for reef

First week:

After 1 year:

After year 2:

After year 3:

Biggest issues/troubles:
Space! I have no idea how quickly some things would grow. My Acan Echinata grew very well and now resides in my office 10g, along with a Micromussa Lordhowensis that started off as 1 polyp and grew into a nice matt.
I also didn’t know that I’d be able to grow sps, which is fun, it adds a little bit extra onto things; especially when the anemone’s grow and I have up to 7 at a time
Overall, I didn’t think this would be a problem at first since I was I was initially only going yo keep Zoas and maybe 1 LPS; oh how times have changed.

Really nice, you have managed to make a 20g tank look like 80g.

I’m trying to decide between the Nuvo 30l and the nuvo 25g you haven’t made that decision any easier, the 30l has only a slightly bigger display volume than the 25g, bigger even only a little bit seems the right choice but it’s narrow, you have done a good job with the scape so thinking the wider floor space might be the way to go.
