I live near World Wide Corals and got 3 nice SPS pieces for $40. Anyone who has seen that store knows they don’t have mediocre coral in there. I also think Tidal Gardens has some exceptional corals even if the prices aren’t always great. I got a beautiful Golden Leptoseris completely encrusted over and coming off the plug, over 1.5” across, $35.
They certainly are top notch to say the very least. If people want the Creme de la Creme, their Vic’s Picks section of the website has absolutely incredible corals. Their new West Coast Source also has some awesome full colonies of corals at really good prices.

1. What's the best CORAL deal you have found lately?

The best coral deal I ever got wasn't that recent but was from the LFS. It was a duncan that he said had been turned in by someone who was breaking down their tank. At one time it had been an impressive specimen but sitting in his frag tank it was mostly dead skeleton with just a few heads still alive. So I took it home and sawed off the good heads, glued them to a rock, and now it is back to being glorious with probably 30 heads the last time I tried to count. Best $15 coral ever.

2. What coral frags or pieces have you purchased lately?

Just so happens that I got a new coral today, a Purple Candelabra Gorgonian. It's been on my wish list for a while and I finally decided to give in and order one. The lights are off now but it looks like it's settling in well. Now I just need to figure out how to mount it, gorgonians are weird!

I haven't seen a "good deal" in ages. I feel lucky to get what I pay for and every coral is a gamble. I did get a refund on a coral that was pretty iffy, but it died so i only broke even.

I have had the luck of finding 2 super deals. One was a grab bag special and was a little nervous. On eBay a guy had a deal where you pay 200$ and they pick the coral. No idea of size color , just a shot n the dark. They sent me one of the largest meat corals that I have seen , five n a half in closed. Open he's a monster, beautiful color and healthy as can b. Very pleased n can't wait to post pics but haven't gotten a computer since I broke mine. The other great deal was a blueberry tree coral. I've been trying to get one for a few years but they r never available. This guy is about 7 in tall and 8 añd a half in across. Beautiful color and again very healthy. It wasn't cheap for a gorgonian and shipping was as much as the coral but I finally got one I've been after

I paid way too much for one of the corals on my last order (Hammer), but I wanted the color so I just ordered it
And I am happy with it now that it's in my tank and that's what counts for me

Any battlebox from Adam at battlecorals is the best value you can ask for

I've heard that plenty of times. Just finally pulled the trigger on a battlebox of my own.
I'm excited to see what's in the mix. Another 8 frags I think would juuuuuuuust about have me stocked where I want for grow-out.

The best deals I have made lately were from local vendors. I purchased a beautiful scoly for about $125 less than I have been seeing them online with similiar colors and I purchased a very nice purple stylo colony for $40. As for my latest purchase, I purchased the attached frag yesterday online, but haven't received it yet. It was $359 and I thought it was a good deal for a Jelly Bean Chalice frag.

Glad I read your caption; was about to flame on you :)

Nothing a handful of peppermints can't sort out for you. Reeftopia has/had a sale on them for $4.50 each but I may have bought them all. Somebody keeps chasing them out of my tank; I have to replace them every 6 months or so. I know they are gone when I start to see an aiptasia or three.

Thanks. Just ordered. Had two file fish. They were eating pellets but when the aptasia were gone, they died.

Which groups? I’m in Houston and I’m always looking for good deal.
On Facebook, check out “Major League Reefers”…there’s also one out of DFW called “Reef Water Dallas” and he has auctions you can get great deals sometimes. Ships for $30 flat fee. I just got a scoly, huge blasto colony and a big torch from him. He’s doing a waffle right now on a glitter Goni check it out!
