Big week for the CADE tank. This week all the Neptune gear started to arrive.
APEX, Trident, DOS, etc ...

Gee pics of the finished install. Still waiting for additional DOS units to arrive

I love it. Are you able to close the door with the Apex mounted in there? What containers are those?

Yes, the door closes on my 1800.
The bottles are just VOSS 800ml glass water bottles. I installed a JG bulkhead fitting and that’s it. I went this way because I wanted containers to fit into that side of cabinet

I mounted the light to the back glass of the ATO.
Please see pic below. You cut the ATO cover to fit as required. You can also buy additional ATO lids for this purpose. Some people also chose to mount the lights side to side of the tank.

There is no more bleed from the Refugium as I covered the under side of the tank with black vinyl. See pictures below. There is a before and after pic.

The media baskets are for whatever media you want to use, carbon, matrix, whatever. There are 9 of them and water flows through them and out to the return pump. The pump is easy to access.

How did you remove the first baffle? The one separating the filter sock area and refugium.

Yes, I did away with the 1980s filter socks too!
That’s what thing all tank designers should do away with IMO

here are a few pics of how I installed my SK-5000.

CADE’s use Chinese plumming so the sizes are different. But here in Australia we have few places that stock this size plumming. So just got some elbows and pipe and hooked it up.

My EcoTech Vectra M2 is running at 90% constant speed and the fleece is doing okay. Water is very clean.

my nutrients are doing well with the Roller, Refugium and Skimmer.
Phos: 0.01ppm
Nitrate: 4ppm
Do you happen to know what size pipe it is? Thinking of installing clarisea as well on my Cade 1800. I swapped the main and emergency pipes to bypass the socks.

Hi, love the setup and your built.
I have the 1200 and am going through the cycling process.
Whilst this is happening, I'm setting everything up for success.
I like the dosing container setup but was wondering where you have the dosing pump installed.
Do you have it on or under the shelf in the cabinet? Do you have a chiller installed in there as well?
Thinking about my options. Thank you.

I haven’t been very active on the forum since I started my build. My apologies. I’ve been mostly active on FB groups and kind of forgot I started this thread in the beginning.

I will try and do better with future updates.

Well the tank is approaching it’s 2 year anniversary. It has been a rough two years with ups and downs as expected. It’s finally reaching some sort of stability now.

I am happy with how it is coming along and really getting to that “enjoying my tank part”

here are the latest pics of the tank as it stands today.

All the inmates are healthy and happy

Beauty of a tank. I have a Cade pro reef 900 running for nearly a year, but i started running out of space and gonna upgrade soon to the 1800. Have to upgrade my floor first living in a Queenslander, hope it wont take 7 people to lift the tank and cabinet up the stairs though. You're still happy with the tank?...i see you tweaked it a bit.

Hey mate

Yes, very happy. This hobby is always work in progress as are our tanks.

1800 is a very heavy tank. That 19mm glass is very heavy. Especially if you are going upstairs. Get many mates over. I would have at least 6 strong . I had 4 and it wasn’t enough. It’s was bit of a nightmare to get it in. But that feeling soon disappears once it’s in place

The command centre is coming along.
What is really nice about these CADE tanks is the side access on the cabinets. It’s a really nice touch!

Installed my:
- return pump (Vectra M2)
2 x MP40 Mobius
- Cove skimmer
- Seneye to watch NH3, PH, temp
- InkBird controlled for heaters just in case
- 4 x XR15 Blue Radions
- 360X Refugium light

I am pretty happy how the cable management is turning out.

Did you velcro these in or use screws?
