Like many hobbyists who enjoy a matured reef tank, I too am looking for the elusive coraline algae so I can say hey my tank seems to be maturing.
Well, I bought several large turbo snails covered to some degree with coraline algae and I (against my better judgment) purchased coraline algae spores in a bottle and then I waited.
8 months in and I found my first 'speck' of coraline algae.
Yeah I know, it's really not much to write home about, but it is worth a laugh.
Last night I was just viewing the tank and I spotted a pink blemish, I had to rub my old tired eyes and look several times but yup just barely there, smaller than a pencil eraser but yup, I have coraline algae on my rocks.
As I sit here typing this I am laughing so hard.
The picture is grainy because I had to blow it up, otherwise you wouldn't see it lol
Hey everybody my tank may be maturing lol
I hope this brings a smile to some!!!
Enjoy your Labor day!!!
