Hi all,

I bought a lamarcks angelfish from an lfs that I trust, he was quarantined for a few days before I took him, big mistake I made was not to quarantine him again at home.

It’s been 1 week since I put the fish in my display tank and noticed today that the fish does not use his right fin. He depends primarily on his left. Everything looks normal except that the part of the fin which is attached to the body is something like a red slightly swollen mass, while the normal fin where it joins the body is just black (blending in with the stripes on his body)

Do you guys know what this can be? And how it can be treated?

Thanks,
Rev

Hard to tell by the photos but based on your description it sounds like uronema.

Read the links below and let me know if this sounds and looks like what you're dealing with.

Should I.move the fish into quarantine and do some treatment?

The only issue area seems to be the base of the right fin which is slightly swollen and reddish

or just an injury to the fin? because the angel seems to like to sleep in a small alcove with a lot of spinoid worms which are fairly sharp.

Not lympho but could be injury. Keep an eye on it and get the QT ready just in case. You could move forward with adding metroplex + kannaplex + focus and feed.
