I'm about to black out the side walls of my sump refugium so that light doesn't spill into the overflow/filtration/return chambers causing algae growth where I can't easily clean it. Here is the sump:

Here is the product I bought to black out the sides.

It lays against the glass, then I use a heat gun to get the adhesive to stick and vinyl to stretch taut. I will, of course, protect the seams when using the heat gun.

Here is where I plan to put the blackout:

Anyone know if the adhesive would be a problem in the tank? I know we use various adhesives in aquariums, such as CA glue and epoxy. Anyone know if this kind would pose a problem? Thanks!

I wonder if it would hold up over time in the saltwater , I would look for some thin black
pvc material then a couple dabs of silicone to adhere. just my 2 cents worth

As someone else mentioned, I do not see an issue with the adhesive as once it has cured it really cant break down and pollute your water. But I don't think it will last very long, I would expect it will begin delaminating within a few months.
