Hello!

Im a little early on this but want to get a head start. This is basically a continuation of the short saga of my last build that I didn’t document well, want to try again.

I am a big last of us video game fan and also a fan of the new show, did this inspire the build? No but why not.

Tess (Jeweled Moray) and Joel (Volitan Lionfish) have grown quite quickly and are in need of more space. I have also dreamed of a 300+ tank and I have near future plans to begin year long travel trips which will require leaving the hobby. This will be my last go for quite a while, hoping for 5-7 years with this tank.

Aquarium-
Midwest Custom Aquariums 72” x 47” x 25” 3/4” acrylic , external overflow, peninsula style. 360 gallons I am calling it for ease.

Stand-
Framing Tech 20/80 extrusion aluminum.

Lighting-
2x 8 bulb T5, 50/50 Blue plus/6500k
6x Smatfarm LED, for dimming purposes only

Skimmer-
RO Regal 300INT
Currently using Lifereef but too loud :(

Return-
2x Jebao dcp8000
2x 40 Watt UV, one on each return

Sump-
150 gallon aquarium (tank being replaced)
Going to try mangroves in first half of sump.

Only photo for now is stand schematic , will document how FramingTech works.

Updates to follow!

Great dimensions for the tank. The stand looks great. What are your plans for the base/floor for the sump area?

The sump will actually be completely behind the tank, nothing will be below.

Excellent start! This is the exact dimensions I am considering for my new tank! I was also contemplating the aluminum frame stand. May I ask what the materials cost?
I'll be watching this build thread closely! Good luck with it all!

I had the stand overbuilt to be able to hold twice the full weight of the tank, that increased the price 3-400$ for material.

Total shipped to my door was 2250, 250$ was shipping

That is going to be so nice! So, will this be a fish only, considering its for your lionfish and eel? Or, will you try a reef and hope they don't eat everything? :)

It’s a full reef, just not your typical reef fish, I don’t like that all reefs have the fish, I’m going for more grunts.

Love it! I really like your aquascaping. Low and full of beautiful coral/nems! Like you, I really enjoy a shallow reef scape with fish swimming OVER the reef in a wide open water column, not in front of it!

Few months in. Added some additional fish, like to keep to fish that are not overly popular.
