Where did you get your tank bundle?

I ask also considering a lagoon-style for my new tank, as open to a cube. That low tank just looks so nice.

I got the tank and light from Waterbox.ca. Back when I got it it was a pretty good deal although 6 months later the price went up about 150$ !!
look into the Innovative Marine AIO tanks James.

Amazing looking cube tank, especially for only being 6 months old. Just WOW, and an explosion of coralline over your white dry rock too!

A few questions if you don't mind (I'm 2+mo in to my WB cube.) Did you go through an ugly phase? What sort of CUC do you have? What fish do you have (I can see one clown.) What's your maintenance like and water change amount/schedule? Do you dose anything?
Thanks!!
I got diatoms around the 6 week mark, covered everything! I freaked out a bit because I was starting to think I would be the 1 in a million who didn't get the uglies. LOL
As soon as they started I ordered my cuc. This included 3 Mexican Turbo snails, one of which was bigger than a golfball!, and without a word of a lie the diatoms were wiped clean within 24 hours never to return. I've had no further algae outbreaks (knock on wood)
Now my cuc consists of 2 turbos (the big guy died about a month ago) , 2 Trochus, 3 Astrea, 3 ceriths, and 3 Nassarius snails. No crabs because I don't like their attitude;).
I have 2 frostbite clowns a red firefish and a possum wrasse. I also have a blood red fire shrimp.
I change filter sock every 4 days, 15% water change every Saturday, vacuum the sand a little during the WC, clean the glass every few days and remove and clean the pumps etc every month or so.
I continue to dose the Microbacter Clean every week , Reef Nutrition Phyto feast every 3 days and ESV Bionic 2 part manually every day. I started the 2 part about 6 weeks ago I think. That's it.

So it's fish time for the tank! This was a couple of weeks after I was sure my tank could process ammonia properly so about 3 weeks wet.
I'd already decided to get a pair of Clowns as my first fish, because , well, ya know...clowns right?!
Got an alert from a high quality fish store about an hour from me that they had a couple of locally bred frostbites so I raced down there and snagged them up pronto.
They were no more than 2cm in length but happy and healthy and have continued to be. They've lived their entire lives together and get along great. One has definitely decided to be the female as she now is twice the size of the male..poor guy LOL. As is clownish the female can sometimes be a right proper jerk but is never spiteful, although she has developed a strange dislike for my fire shrimp. Who knows? Clowns are weird..

here they are day first week and a week or so ago.

5 weeks in and it’s time for another fish and my first ever coral!
I wanted a pretty, calm and friendly fish so a red firefish seemed ideal.
when I got the little fella his fins were tattered and torn, I think from some aggression from tank mates at the lfs. After a couple of weeks though he was good as new.
First coral? Ya, you know it….GSP baby! I knew almost nothing about coral at this point but I knew I needed to isolate it on an island so that’s what I did.

ok, where was I? Oh ya, 5 weeks in with 3 fish and 1 coral.
So at this point in time I was pretty convinced that I was a reefing god and nothing was going to stand in my way! LOL
Of course I ordered more coral! Contacted Mitchell at New Dawn Aquaculture in Edmonton and picked his brain for awhile. Told him about my tank and its' progress etc and had him recommend some coral for me to try.
I ended up ordering a neon tip toadstool, a devils hand leather, Xenia , Grubes gorgonian, a purple candelabra gorgonian and a festivus favites as my first lps. I got my blood red fire shrimp from him at the same time.
I'll try and post some then and now pics here. All have survived and most have thrived
They all look so sad here LOL. I get better with the pics btw ;)

Right after I added this first big batch of corals my reefing god status took a bit of a hit.
Diatoms came in hot and heavy and covered pretty much everything in the tank. My leathers were the hardest hit , the devils hand was completely covered and didn't look like it was going to recover at all. I put it up into some high flow and it eventually shed its skin and recovered nicely.
