My new coral acclimation tool (a sheet of paper). I didn’t want to put the lights into full acclimation mode so I just stuck a sheet of paper over the new corals. I just keep folding the sheet to make it smaller each day u til I remove it completely lol

Got some new additions yesterday. Most went into the frag system until I’m sure the tank is ready for Acro’s but I did add a couple heads of Hellfire torch to add a bit of color and movement.

The downstairs system, it was a frag tank but it has more colonies than frags at this point

Some new Acros from a local reefer, once they acclimate to this tank I’ll take some cuttings and add them to the new display. This way if the frags don’t make it I will have the base to grow out in my frag system

Well the 6 week mark is tomorrow and I just spotted my first specs of coralline algae. The tank has stabilized with low nutrients and 7-7.5 dkh so it’s time for more acro frags. I’ll post pictures as I add them over the next few days.

The only issues right now are some cyano bacteria on the same bed

Did a quick PAR map and I'm pretty happy with the numbers. As the corals grow into the water column they will be hitting upwards of 600-700 par at 6-8" from the surface. The bottom is still 130-200 par so Montis will do well in the sand.

Time to add some biodiversity to the tank, I just got a few pounds of Australian live rock and wow is there a lot of color on it. Looking forward to see what pops up.

Some pictures of the rubble that I got under white light. There is purple, orange, red, green and pink coralline on the rock. This will get spread throughout the rockscape to seed the dry rock.

Where did you source this? EC?
Yeah TankStop just got a new shipment in. Perfect timing as my tank is starting to grow coralline so all the varieties on this rock will really seed the tank well. All my other tanks only have light pink coralline so this will bring some nice color.

Decided to upgrade the 3 head GHL doser I just got with a 4th head. Super easy cost effective.

Yes it was, lots of effort to QT the tang gang so I could add them all at once but it paid off as they are best friends in the new tank lol. I have a nice bar table so we can sit and enjoy the tank
