Just saw this video:

Owner of an biocube 32 with stock lighting just tested the PAR with a Seneye Reef, and I was shocked to see 200+ PAR in a decently large portion of the tank.

I did note though that a lot of the zoas at the bottom of the tank seem to be stretching upward pretty hard, which IIRC is an indication that they're not getting sufficient light?

Can anyone speak to the accuracy of the Seneye or how well his methodology?

If they're even remotely accurately then it means I'll be trying out some easy SPS in mine when I get the chance.

These lights just turned my sand into a cyano farm. Have never seen anything like it before. Eventually upgraded to the AI Hydra 26 that I had left over from a tank tear down. Worth every penny.

Growing LPS on the bottom with ease, for months now and getting good growth. Just put in SPS last week. Going to see how it works out.

However they are the new stock lights. Biocube was bought new October/September 2020 don’t remember the exact month. Never had experience with the old Biocubes, I heard the lights weren’t very good.
That's fantastic to hear. Got my biocube a couple of months ago brand new, and so far all the LPS and softies are doing great. Just ordered a frag rack off amazon that I'm going to stick to the back about halfway up the tank and try a few frags of easy SPS and see how they do.

I say go for it! All my Sps’s in the frag rack are at the height I will be mounting them on the rock scape for easy transition.

This is what you see in my tank.

Reefing Art Magnetic Coral Frag Rack Strongest N52 Magnets Holds up to 41 Plugs

I personally love it. (medium slim)

I put an order in for a couple Tunze magnetic frag rocks, so in the mean time I just picked up a cheap w/e frag frag from Amazon til the Tunze stuff come in.

Do you have any anemones in your tank enjoying the beautiful stock lighting?

Side note: What skimmer are you using? I have the coralife v2 skimmer in chamber 1 (InTank media basket and refuge in chamber 2.

No, no anemones in my tank. It’s too crowded with coral. Might be able to fit a carpet if I get a wild hair.

I was running the same skimmer had to get rid of it because of micro bubbles. Apparently it doesn’t work well with the intank setup. I contacted the company and they said it wasn’t made to be used with the intank media basket or Refug.

You can check out my whole setup, on my build thread. I even have videos. Just click on my banner.

Curious what your lighting schedule is. ? I'm tinkering with mine still. But believe I'll be happy keeping the stock lighting.

Honestly I just mimicked this guy since the beginning.

And added a 5am / 9:30pm blues to enjoy my coral longer.

Here is updated coral growth in stock lighting. Don’t mind the bubble algae lol.
