This is one of our classic acroporas. Not the most colorful but very nice in shape :D
From 2005:

2006:

Some different pics from 2007:

Acropora parapharaonis hepatus.JPG

In 2020 it suddenly spliced and got grafted in on part of the coral. It happend after +16 years in captivity:

Still running strong in 2022 below a spliced frag:

Legends never die. I remember looking at your system and visualizing all of the possibilities I could have in my own setups. Thank you for providing inspiration all those years ago. Your TOTM month in 2002 really helped show me what was possible. I joined that select group of Reef Central TOTM in July of 2006. We part of an exclusive club; the OG reefers!
I remember your tank! It was a dream tank for sure. Gotta love the older technologies. I miss my metal halides but don't miss the heat issues with them.

For those that need a refresher on @SunnyX tank of the month in 2006:

The tank on the old Reef Crystals boxes! Always liked that tank. A great blast from the pst, thanks for sharing!
I actually have it on my wall. They sent me a pre-release mockup prior to it going on the boxes. It's in my spare bedroom, forgot I had it on the wall

Colonies? They all look like what we used to call frags.

Not those booger thumbnail things we sell for thousands of dollars these days. People used to throw them away, and call them an oops when fragging.

The idea of a frag has really gotten out of hand.

OK Was on vacation when I replied to this thread. Now that I'm home, I'll post some colony pics. And what I consider frags in my last pic.

Glad to see your acros did well in your absence. I always take a good hard look before I leave, just in case it’s the last time I see them..

Thanks!

Meh, tanks on cruise control. Wasn't worried one bit. Had a house sitter that just fed the fish daily. Really bout the only thing I do anymore either.

Feed fish, test twice a week(yes I still test manually. Haven't bought into the whole auto testers yet), clean the glass every couple days. Tank is fully automated besides testing.
