250 gallon tank.

I was thinking of adding one specie of each tang (not more than the same type to reduce aggression)

So far I’m deciding on:
1 blue tang (Paracanthurus)
1 blonde naso tang (for naso)
1achillies tang (for acanthurus)
1 desajari sailfin tang (for zebrasoma)
Let’s talk tangs.

Note: tank is going 76 day fallow and each fish, coral, invert is getting QT because I learned from my mistakes.

Edit: I think

I also have a 250g. Current tangs are:
2x yellow (they chase occasionally)
powder blue
desjardin sailfin
hippo
tomini.

all is well.

1 full sheet of nori per day.

I plan to add a naso soon. Maybe someday an Achilles, but right now I’m not ready.

Can I see a tank picture?

Also, What is holding you back from being ready? Curious

Why not include one from the Ctenochaetus genus?
I actually researched them and I will add one of them too! I like the bristletooth tang most from that group.

But to be honest, I want more acanthurus tangs. I really like like orange shoulder a lot.

I used to have a Kole tang and it was absolutely gorgeous. Their coloration can vary pretty greatly between individual fish. I've never had one but chevron tangs are very attractive...when juveniles at least.

Orange shoulders are probably one of my favorite looking tangs but unfortunately my tank isn't quite big enough for one.

Vlamingi?
My tank is too small for vlamingii tangs.

What’s the most amount of tangs I can house in my 250 gallon? I’m thinking of making this tank a tang species only tank. I love tangs the most.

Plus if OP is only wanting one from each genus then he already has a Naso which is what a Vlamingi would be.

Although if doing a tang specific tank it will be hard to only pick one from each genus, unless you want a lightly stocked tank.
I want multiple of each now because I like tangs.
