Kelly the Wonderdog. We wonder when the second braincell is going to kick in. 4yr old Shepherd + ?? born in a rescue. Good hunter, lousy catcher. Loves to halp, especially in the kitchen! Only mildly jealous of the tank...

This is a great thread, I love seeing everyone’s other pets!

We have had so many now over the years, but here’s a few of our current crew:

FullSizeRender.jpeg

^Simon on the left, our current most senior cat, he’s a 16 year old Cheetoh cat. The smartest cat I’ve ever know, we call him the third dog, he plays fetch and pees in the toilet, and speaks fluent English. He’s extremely vocal, and you can have full conversations with him. Don’t get him angry, or he’ll pee on something he knows you value lol! Oh, and he’ll stare you dead in the eye while doing it!

On the right, my best old buddy Andy, who was like Velcro to me. Unfortunately, we had to put Andy down after over 18 years just last October. I miss him everyday.

^Andy on October 31st 2024, the last day I had him.

^Charlee Rose!

^Simon and Charlee’s brother Franklin Edgar, named loosely after UFC star Frankie Edgar.

^Lucky, AKA Lord Mucklesbee XVII, code name - Da Floof! One day my wife and I stopped into a shelter just to look. This guy was out roaming around, my wife reached out to pet him and he bit her, and she just had to have him lol! So we’re there doing the paperwork and I have my card out to pay the $100 adoption fee, and the guys say, no charge. Turns out, Lucky had been at the shelter for so long because of his “attitude”, the shelter figured he’d be there forever, that no one would want him, so we got him for free. It took a while, but he’s a purr factory now ;-)

@beehave6301 how do you get jumping spiders to bond with you and not hate you? Philip charged at me with his arms in the air yesterday when I was trying to fix something in his enclosure.
You just try to pick it up and put a finger where you think it's going to jump. Also, I used to hand feed my jumping spider. Gaining trust is the most important step. With a lot of handling and hand feeding, I'm sure you'll gain it's trust.

Years (and years) ago I lived in south Texas. Someone I knew was an avid hunter. One of his hunting dogs was a standard poodle. He told the story of how when he pulled into the campsite on a Friday afternoon and unloaded his dogs he got some laughs about the poodle. He always said by the end of the hunting trip no one was laughing. He said it was one of the best dogs he'd ever had.

@EeyoreIsMySpiritAnimal - I know you have fuzzies! Please share!

@Ghostweim - how’s the Weimaraner?

@akmorphs - one of R2R’s newer members, but I believe she has a whole farm, plus a reptile breeding business, as well as reef tanks.

Let’s see the other pets!

We really need a bird rescue like what you have here. We do have a raptor rescue locally, but there are a lot of parrots and the like that make it into the Humane Society here.
The Humane Society reaches out to us for help when they get calls for birds. I may know of a rescue in your area. I will confirm and let you know asap.

***Edit - well, the closest rescue is in Kansas City, and I know that is still two hours away. However, if you ever want to check them out, look up Beaks N Wings.

This is Dylan. He's (mostly) a whippet. He was sold to me as a pure whippet, but his head shape and face suggest a 'street accident' occurred in his family history. Such a character.

This one's Sadie (she's a greyhound whippet mix) on a cold morning.

Love that roughneck. Very cool. I’ve talked myself out of getting a black Asian water monitor several times.
Thanks.....yeah, the larger monitors are a ton of work.
