I had peach faced lovebirds and budgies (parakeets) for several years. Had to rehome them due to asthma compliations and I still miss them. Gorgeous birds!

So sorry. Asthma and birds don’t mix. They give off a lot of dander!

I think parrots are underrated as pets. They have a lot of personality and are very interactive.

I think of all the pets I've had over the decades, parrots are by far the most interactive and fun. I really wanted to get a Caique, but never could find one around here.

We rarely get any Caiques in the rescue, too.

Some time back I read an article about the expressions we see (or think we see) in dogs...the sad eyes, the begging eyes, the "I adore you" eyes, etc. The article said this isn't observed in the wild. Wolves don't do this. It is something domesticated dogs have learned to do over generations. In other words, they've learned how to manipulate us. And dang it...it works every time!
