I have been on Red Sea's (Black Bucket) but will be going over to Tropic Marin Pro-Reef at the start of my new 120 Build.
Don't mind paying the difference of the above two for the best consistency and quality of the salt.

Wow! That's a good deal! I get the blue bucket at my LFS for $62 and I thought that was good lol!
It's an awesome deal! They've been doing it since they opened a couple of years ago. I thought for sure it was only going to be a grand opening special and go up in price, but they're still doing it.

HW marine reefer. Mostly cause it mixes pretty clean and that’s not to say it’s always perfect as no salt is. I’d also recommend atleast an alk test before using and that’s with any salt of course.

IMO salt should be a 'loss leader' for the LFS. Get people in the door for the salt. We will buy other stuff when there, its what we do. Even a token mark up ~$5/box would have locals in the store all the time. More traffic, more sales.

I voted other - mostly because you chose 160 - 200 gallon bucket - which is a huge range. For example - the 40 gallon difference is 40/.160 or a 25% difference. The salt I buy - I can sometimes get on sale from. BRS - makes about 150 or so gallons - between 68 and 78% - so I didnt know how to really answer the poll the way its written

Fair price depends on what you get for in a bucket of salt. If i get salt that makes results happen, is easy to use and is better than competition then i will spend money on it, even extra. If salt is bad, its not worth any money if it has residue, elevated unwanted stuff etc. Regular price i pay is 70 ish $ for red sea coral pro 22kg bucket and i don't know if its good, having some issues, but i think the salt is fine. I will try to match my parameters better with a salt that has similar ones and see if something changes. Salt should not be expensive imo but it has a premium since reefers are rich People. Any other industry it would be at least 20-30% cheaper.

For those who aren't bothered with paying $!00 a bucket of salt, if a bucket only lasts you a month or less would you still hold that opinion?

That is kind of a loaded question. In the poll - It asked about a 160 - 200 gallon bucket - which is a huge range - and aren't most designed for 150 gallons (may be wrong - I only buy one brand for several years) - but - yeah - its different if you have a 3000 gallon tank vs a 300 or a 30 gallon tank. (Some people change water a lot - some dont) - So to me the answer to your question without further information - is 'yes'

Brightwell. It mixes up in half an hour and my tank never looks mad after a water change.
Great prices on Amazon right now too. 150 bucket is just above $50.

Reef crystals here. $52 on sale for either 160 gallons bucket or 200 gallons box. Parameters consistent over the past 10 months with Calc at 480 and Alk at 7.5.

OPTIONS! In this hobby we have options! There are so many ways to run and maintain a tank and with that comes many options for equipment, additives, livestock etc. There are so many cool gadgets that we can utilize that gives us the options to pick and choose whether we use them or not.

BUT one thing we all must use and can't reef without is salt! Not only do we need it but we need it often for water changes, emergencies, quarantine and more! So for the QOTD I wanted to talk about SALT and ask you a couple of questions!

1. What is a fair price to pay for a 160g - 200g bucket of salt?

2. As of 2020 what salt mix are you using?
