This is my first post in this subsection of the forum so I should probably introduce myself first! Hello all im from Nashville, TN and have lived there my whole life which is also where my tanks reside. I currently attend the University of Alabama double majoring in Biology and Marine Bio. Ive been in this hobby for about 10 years now and i believe ive been doing reef tanks for about 8 years now. I currently have a 135 which upgraded from a 55 and a 180 + attached frag tank that just went through a major sps wipeout before I left for school a couple weeks ago. Luckily I was able to get some things straightened out before I left and those sps that survived are back on the come up :). Here are a few videos and photos from my tanks before the major incident (even though im not from Birmingham lol) and I hope you all share your tanks!

some really nice pieces you have. Got back into hobby a little over a year ago after a few year hiatus following a tank crash. 39 gal cube a little over a year old. Starting to stabilize after a bumpy patch. Had about 40 heads of frogspawn (bottom left) slowing receding tissue for last few months, but started using all 4 reef on a doser in December, and seems like heads are slowly expanding again. Could be wishful thinking and may not have anything to do with the dosing, but hoping it comes back. Simple tank, without much fuss.

Decided to join the club in having a tank in Alabama...Setting up a pico 2.5 gallon reef which will hopefully be started/filled in the coming weeks :)
. This a quick vid of the pump I will be using running in FW. The basic break down is set this tank up for $30 or less not including stuff I already have. And be able to be broken down and set up within an hour packed in a 5 gallon bucket. So far everything looks good and hope to have rock and coral mid march.

When I got this tyree Pink lemonade frag August 11, 2019 I had very low expectations of it surviving...just look at it. This piece sat stagnant for about a year and had survived its first major tank crash. It just recently survived an even more devastating crash...and im so glad that i did not give up on the piece. Also a few other pictures from today

Don't know. Never was able to pinpoint an exact cause. Nothing abnormal on an ICP test. Just seemed to happen overnight. I actually took videos of some coral for somebody and then the very next day those same coral were not the same. Here is the videos as example...exact same coral Video taken less than 24hours apart. It got a lot worse before it got better.
