I was trying to photograph the microfauna around my Deresa clam early in the morning and turns out I actually got a good photo of the clam :)

Nice growth on the shell
It’s grown a ton since I got it - it had a period of no growth because my parameters were hard to keep steady in summer (you can see that period - the deep green on the bottom of the shell) but in its new tank it’s been pushing off tons of growth!

Yours is gorgeous, sometimes I wish I waited for a Squamosa but hey I guess Maxima’s are cheaper when you want a blue one and with big enough mantle extension you could trick yourself into believing it’s a Squamosa.

So happy my spurs are 2 to the good v city. Half. Finally right side of the score. Dangerous lead tho. One which provides false sense of security and complacency. We need the points

That mantle is beautiful, and he’s definitely going through some growth spurts. I think my maxima is also starting to join in with my Deresa in growth spurts.

Post it up
I accidentally ticked them off through blowing the cyano in my tank off the rocks and sand so I did also take the opportunity to get some growth pics. Also, my clowngoby loves using the clam as a hiding spot as he seems to hide around the maxima quite a bit when it’s open in the day.
Both are now wide open and seem happy (no gaping or anything).

Edit: Only just noticed that small white chunk of mantle on the maxima, I believe that’s due to where the mantle overlaps.
