Thank you! This little Ora guy is really starting to look pretty cool! He was grayish a few months ago. Very happy he’s still doing good for getting him so small at 1.5-2 inches. He’s about 2.75-3inches now :)

Excellent and well done on the growth. Your clam has a nice unique pattern.

Is it common I let Zoa grow on clams? Will they effect the mantle??

I wouldn't be to concerned unless you saw allelopathy happening and the mantle retracted for long periods. But we were pretty OCD with our clams, nothing would grow on them for long;Hilarious

So you wasn’t a fan of having Zoa encrust on their shell?

I have a bugbear when any clam with scutes has anything caught up in between, like algae or detritus or sponge.....

@hotashes I think it would look cool but never wanted to risk it and we were the same, sponge, etc, were removed regularly.
I’m glad this came up, lol. I have some sort of grey/white sponge growing on my clam’s shell. I’ll remove it :)
