I’m glad this came up, lol. I have some sort of grey/white sponge growing on my clam’s shell. I’ll remove it :)
Good idea. I'm a fan of sponge but nothing on the clam shells. Pretty rare but there's even sponge that can bore into a clams shell, crazy. I've never seen it personally though.

That's it man, occasional scrubs to rid the shell of algae, detritus, ect. Careful around the byssal opening;)

I will be taking mine out and giving them a scrub for sure..

I’ve even used 3% h2o2 on the shell DISCLAIMER * with every caution not to let any liquid to enter the clam on its mantle or byssal.
