Do you have to run a lot of carbon? I’ve heard a lot of leather five of a toxin or mal nutrient

My neon will not open up!!!! It’s always tightly closed. Is it 2 low?.. it was nice but I kinda dropped it lower for frag space. I’d snap a pic but it’s behind rock work in my 20g. I’ll finish it out because I don’t wanna lose it But it’s been 6 months like that.

Picture s and water test results will help.

I just removed my neon sinaluria as I read they will dump toxins if they feel threatened with fellow corals. Had a dream it got mad for no reason and started dumping and nuking my sps.
Is this possible? I really loved its texture and color depths.
