I love it! And now we're approaching ghetto... [emoji7]
Like my water line too? I had a piece of line from an old skimmer, used it, it was too short (white hose in picture) so I used a hose clamp and added some more hose :D

It’s worked great so far. I think I spent like ten dollars to make my ATO. eBay relay, 0.99 cent float switch, 5.99 for a cheap water pump. ;Greedy

DIY Sulfur Denitrator, wouldn't call it ghetto but it was WAY cheaper than buying a fancy acrylic one.

After much nagging, I’ll post the back of my 150 dubbed “googles server room after a tornado” ;)
(I have an apex I’m setting up now, I will post pics of that in a bit :)

DIY Chaeto Reactor I concocted using a Synergy Reef Smr2500 reactor I had lying around. I ordered 16' 3R:1B led strip lights off ebay. Instead of wrapping lights around the reactor's acrylic, I stuck them inside an 8" sewer pipe. This helps with keeping the leds cool, I can add a small fan for passive cooling (if necessary), no hot spots on acrylic to leak like on some of the TLF reactors, and the pipe sleeve keeps the light from spilling out in my fish closet. I have the reactor sitting on a 6" PVC cap, so it would be elevated enough to gravity drain back into sump. <Wasn't needed>
I have the same kind of cap under my Avast Marine Diy K1 kalk stirrer in order to get the drain above side of sump. *seen in picture*
(These caps would work wonderful for skimmer stands if some holes were drilled in them. They will float if submerged without holes for air to escape....)

Everything under the cabinet (except pumps) are el cheapo home made equipment.

1) Extended float "switch in the cloud" ATO. Snail/gunk proof as the switch is in the sky.

2) Bacteria tower, my own nitrate destroyer

3) Plastic container filled with LR as cryptic zone filtration system

4) Live oysters compartment for occassional oyster eggs feast party

5) Hourly whole sump stirring, detritus recycling method to feed corals

6) Algae through (thanks Paul B) as algae scrubber and temporary coral dumping area

Nice. Where did you get your oysters, because I'm thinking of the same thing, for the same reasons. Also, which one is the stirring device, "number 5?"

I bought it from the wet market. 25 good sized live oysters for slightly over USD1.00 :D. Most end up as fish food, 9 in the sump (several months now). Stirring pump is in the sump (not visible) to the naked eye.

behind display tank 25g ATO container with TV stand as lid. Couldn’t find a lid for it so found this in storage and it’s a perfect fit.

Really nice! I'd love to read more about every thing on that list with lots of pictures and the design principles behind it.
