As a fishing guide i take lots of fish pictures. This is not one of the biggest fish ive guided clients into but id say its the most perfect specimen of a rainbow ive seen.

My father though… he is the photographer.
Ive been trying to convince him to take some pictures of my tank for me. Cant seem to squeeze myself into his schedule.

I don't have the photo anymore, but I was in DC visiting the Vietnam memorial and was taking a bunch of artistic pictures of the wall. When I got home and was going over the pictures there was a perfect picture with a reflection of someone with their head facing down. It was more of a ghost image. It was One of the most perfect picture taken at the center of the wall. Computer crashed and was never able to get it back.

I used to build cell towers, got to see a lot of remote mountain tops. Most of them were really pretty

Sometimes we did rooftop sites too. This is one i took of my brother, hanging on the side of a Radisson hotel

Was a little chilly that morning, and a little deep in the blind, so i brought out 2 chairs, one for my buddy. He loved it.

Hmmm no fish or coral :face-with-spiral-eyes:

Here are a few shots I’ve taken—I tend to favor macro shots.

No shame fish/coral plug— If you want to see some of the coral/fish pics I’ve taken, I have a couple threads on this forum.

I love the beauty of taking black and white photos. It allows for you to focus more on the subject matter, and less on the colors. Not to mention it can really convey a more emotions and tell a more dramatic story than a colored photo.

Ok, here are some prints from way back in college, around '94-'95. These were for class at the time and we weren't allowed to do any dodging or burning (pre-photoshop!). Everything was printed on graded paper with no filters. All contrast had to be determined with exposure using the zone system and neg development times. Phone pics of these don't do true justice.
I'll dig out some of my journalism stuff if I get a chance later today.

Those are awesome! I wish I got to experience the days of a darkroom and developing film. The only thing I remember was those cheap disposable cameras you’d buy at a drugstore and hope for the best with picture quality

Don't be down on yourself. You still have some great-looking photos and are still young. Some of us have been doing photography for years. You will hone your skills and improve areas in which you feel weak. It just takes practice! You should see some of the photos I took when I started. They were pretty terrible!

I'm assuming you are using Lightroom? Find a style of photo editing you like and stick with it. Improve upon that style, and you will improve your Photoshop skills. There are also a lot of videos and guides online that can help you learn how to do it better. I've watched many guides and have done a lot of photoshopping to hone in on the style I like. I always say go for edits that improve the look of the picture or subject but don't drown out the initial shot. It is better to under-edit a photo than over-edit
