That coral, while pretty, is out of my budget. The only frags of Walt Disney I own are 1 share / certificate and whatever souvenirs I get while visiting :). Love the place.
I got mine in a trade. Brandon offered, and I didn't refuse!

Mine is under 3 primes and tank is 36 inches and prob old Walt is getting less than 250 par and it took a year but it’s finally getting a little pink! Only really comes out right before lights out when it’s just Royal blue and just a hair of violet. I bet it would go crazy if I turned the lights up more but with a mixed reef it’s hard. Got some super sensitive Scolys and Goni/Alve on the bottom. It’s a balancing act for sure

I'm seeing a hint of blue on the axial polyp. Nice colony there!

Having acquired 3 pieces of it now, I’ve found it to just take time to develop its ideal color. I kept it under t5, metal halide, and as of a week now, led. I have witnessed it be More green dominant under lower par. Higher par and warmer kelvin will pull the more gold/purple colors. That has been my experience with it to date over the past few years.

this is mine grown primarily under 20,000k metal halides at about 400-500 par, BUT presently images under reef breeders photon v2 units, 60% blue/violet, 30% white, 5% red and green at about 250 par. Granted it’s been only a week. But this is what it looks like for me now given those conditions. Instant ocean salt. Regular water changes, 6-8 dkh , heavy heavy heavy flow. 0.03-0.1 ppm po4. Hope thst helps

Mine is starting to take off, it was a rescue from a friend, so it’s been a long road.
Btw, this is under Kessil’s at 30% color and 100% violet. Intensity is 85% with a midday peak of 90%.
Beautiful - thank you!

I’m looking for one of these now as my tanks so stable and the trident has helped with this a lot. I’ve had three of these and no luck. It was all my fault though with salt changes and a huge tank move as well. Now things are better for me to try this. I’m hoping only t5 will be good enough on my 90g. 6 bulb aquatic life

I would find a spot with higher par for long term success.

Thx for the advice. Lights only on %15 of its power I dont wanna turn it up as the tanks been running perfect for goin on 6months. My plan is to grab a few pieces of shelf rock combined with rock from the sump and create some nice mid level acro shelves. About halfway up the tank par's 220 minimum. That should make the sticks on my list a good home.

Has anyone tried growing the Walt Disney with xr15 g5 with ab+ program. I still have a few more months before I'm ready for sps corals but I'm trying to gather as much information as possible now. I'm running the ab+ program on my red sea reefer 300xl . 3ft tank . I'm trying to have a mixed reef. Hopefully it works out . I have the xr15 g5 blues . I'm running the ab+ program at 15% now . It's a 6 month old tank . I have acans and favia in the tank now . Very small frags. Alk 9.3 cal 420 mag 1300 nitrates 9 phosphate. 3 I'm wondering if anyone out there has a similar set up like mine and if anyone can offer advice on keeping this particular coral .

300-350ish par. Slowly ramping the lights up to around 400.
